There is so much interest now in old steel Merckx frames, I think a lot more than can be claimed by Colnago or any other manufacturer for that matter, that if Eddy Merckx Bicyles had the information they could provide a fee for service and provide information on individual frames.

Just a suggestion.

I've got a 1989 Merckx Strada, pre- Team 7 Eleven but in the same livery with the old block lettering I'd like to know more about, a circa 1994 Titanium AX and a 2006 Kodak Sierra-Nevada Team TT frame.

Perhaps a certificate stating frame build number confirming year of build, type of tubing, size, original colour and original country of export / retail sale. Perhaps even signed by Eddy himself? For say of fee of USD $100 it would be worthwhile if you've got a nice frame and intend to keep it and for some frames it may add value if you intend to sell it?

Eddy Merckx Bicycles isn't going to do it for free but I'd be interested in what others think including my suggested price put on the service
