More than just a funky ride: Capri-Sun and Eddy Merckx Bikes Join Forces for a Good Cause

With Capri-Sun, we’re breathing new life into a nostalgic collaboration that dates back to the early 1980s. Cycling enthusiasts will remember the Capri-Sonne team that rode Eddy Merckx bikes in 1982. Now we’re teaming up again, this time for a special charity initiative: the Capri-Sun Pévèle. The proceeds from this campaign will go to the international NGO War Child, which supports children affected by war. The bikes can be ordered starting May 16, not coincidentally on the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

July 21, 1982 – on Belgium’s National Holiday, the modest Capri Sonne – Campagnolo – Merckx team experiences its greatest triumph. Dressed in the iconic blue and orange kit, Peter Winnen breaks away on the Col de Joux Plane and dives into Morzine, delivering a legendary Tour de France stage victory for the team. Just a year later, the squad disappears from the peloton, but its fruity aftertaste still lingers to this day.
