Strasbourg Corsa Steel gets a fresh new look

The Strasbourg has long been a classic within the Eddy Merckx range. In 1971, the Cannibal won a memorable Tour de France stage over unpaved roads into Strasbourg, and just like that iconic victory, the Strasbourg has always felt at home on gravel roads and forest trails. Now it's time for the bike to enter a new chapter. The new Strasbourg Corsa Steel is a tribute to the greatest of all time and a true masterpiece for riders who appreciate steel, craftsmanship and all-day riding comfort.

The biggest update to this modern version of the Strasbourg Corsa can be found at the front of the bike. All cables are now fully integrated through the handlebar and head tube, giving the timeless elegance of the steel frame an even cleaner appearance. The premium finish perfectly complements the classic character of the Strasbourg Corsa.

Of course, the frame is still built to take on the most adventurous gravel rides. Its low centre of gravity gives the bike an exceptionally smooth, stable and controlled ride. With clearance for tyres up to 48 mm, the Strasbourg Corsa is ready to tackle even the roughest terrain.

As has become the standard across the Eddy Merckx Corsa range, the Strasbourg Corsa Steel is also equipped with a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH). The UDH is a standardised interface for mounting the rear derailleur to the frame. Its biggest advantage is that replacing a derailleur is simple, regardless of the brand, while also delivering more consistent and reliable shifting performance.

Handcrafted in Italy

Since the founding of Eddy Merckx Bikes in 1980, "Corsa" has been the hallmark of the brand's premium steel bicycles. Until recently, the steel frames were welded by Johan Vranckx, who had been building frames for Eddy Merckx since the age of sixteen after learning the craft at De Rosa in Italy. Now that Johan has retired, we've returned to our roots. Today, every Corsa steel frame is once again handcrafted in Italy, continuing the tradition of exceptional craftsmanship that has defined the Corsa name for decades.
