Eddy Merckx titanium prototype in action at Gravel World Championships

  • News
This Sunday, the 2025 Gravel World Championships will take place in South Limburg (the Netherlands). Dylan Vandenstorme from Team Flanders-Baloise will also be competing among the professionals. We have made a gem available especially for him. It is an Eddy Merckx Corsa Titanium prototype, a preview of the titanium line that we will be launching in early 2026.

We will soon be expanding our renowned Corsa line with titanium bikes. Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance and is even more resistant to metal fatigue. This endless durability is a popular feature of this material.
Like the steel Corsa bikes, the titanium bikes are a refined blend of vintage allure and contemporary flair. They are literally works of art on wheels.

Columbus Hyperion

The Corsa Titanium will be built with Columbus Hyperion titanium. It should come as no surprise that we have once again chosen Columbus, the benchmark in the cycling world. We have been working together successfully since the founding of Eddy Merckx bikes. At the end of October 2024, Columbus launched these new titanium tubes. This Hyperion edition is 15 to 20% lighter than its steel counterpart. With a density 40% lower than traditional steel, it also improves manoeuvrability on rough terrain, such as gravel surfaces.

This titanium prototype has a tyre clearance of 47 millimetres. It also has a UDH and internal cabling. Furthermore, this prototype was built with a Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur and cassette, a Wolftooth 50T chainring, Wolftooth small parts, FFWD Drift wheels and Vittoria Tirreno Dry tyres.
